Desert Quail Press believes in the power of storytelling, the joy of puzzles, and the art of traditional bookbinding. We started our publishing journey with word search puzzle books, which we sell exclusively on Amazon. Our most popular published books have been the Bible Word Search series. This series includes a Bible verse with every puzzle. We plan on expanding our puzzles books to beyond word search books in the future so keep an eye out for them.

Desert Quail Press founder Ralph S.C III has been an avid comic book reader for most of his life. A stack of comics his aunt Ruth gave to him as a child on a spring afternoon changed his life when he was captivated by the unique visual storytelling of comics and graphic novels. Ralph later started writing his own Indie comic stories full of adventure and drama. Desert Quail Press will begin publishing these comics in 2026.

The art of traditional book binding has also been a passion of our founder for years. Originally, he used a DIY challenge to bind single comic book issues to create his own hardbound books. He found the techniques of book binding to be a positive challenge and it provided him another outlet for creative expression. Desert Quail Press will be adding his hand-bound sketch books, journals and collected works to the shop in the future.
